How the IDApp Was Developed

There are two popular trends in today’s IT industry: immersivity via Extended Reality and decentralization based on blockchain networks. However, both technologies are applied quite narrowly. While the use of immersivity is often field-specific, decentralization mostly relates to crypto commerce. A classical DApp has broad functionality that can be applied in many ways, yet it is not adapted for broad public use. To create one requires advanced knowledge and equipment, like the ability to use the Solidity programming language and high-powered hardware.

Thus, we saw an opportunity to hybridize these trends and design a conceptually new product. On the one hand, an IDApp, which is easily created in the Avvyland Platform, makes it possible to create 3D content in a fully immersive way. On the other, it is commercialized in a peer-to-peer network and functions as a DApp, offering all of its advantages, from financial and information security to flexibile development.

We've formulated the following system requirements (SRS) for this product, which we call an 'immersive DApp' (IDApp). An immersive DApp should:

  • contain a ledger for recording transactions involving any asset

  • be capable of processing hierarchical 3D data

  • make use of thin XR clients

  • make it possible to implement any use case, from creating 3D content to launching businesses

Based on these SRS, we've developed an IDApp that can be created using the Avvyland Framework.
